This school year marks the second chapter of Batch 2027’s journey in their perilous path through Pisay. And what better way to spike up the year than finding successors to the Batch Council?

Last November 23, the Philippine Science High School — Main Campus Students’ Electoral Commission (PSHS — MC SEC) introduced the Batch 2027 Council for the school year.

Emerging victorious were Erina Gabrielle Reyes as president, Brianna Simone Taccad as secretary, Regina Therese Castaneda as treasurer, and Rajan Victor Parado as auditor, all from the BF Party, which stands for Brighter Future, Best Friends, and Building Forward.

Introducing, BF Party

Last school year was an adjustment period as it was Batch 2027’s first year in Pisay while classes were still online. The BF Party noticed that the batch had problems with the heavy workload and they wanted to do anything to help.

“BF Party’s formation leaned more on trying to serve the batch and to take action from the perennial problems we’re facing,” Reyes explained. “[We] were all friends at the onset with the same ideal of running for next school year’s election.”

Thus, BF Party was born.

All together, with no one left behind

As seen in the BF Party’s General Plan of Action (GPoA), they have plans to make their batch more unified. One of those plans is the “Contemplation Corner.”

Taccad explained that with the Contemplation Corner, students can report their issues regarding the school amenities. Students can then give their ideas to their class officers so those officers can forward the suggestions to the batch council.

“As a batch council officer, it’s important to know the well[-]being of our batch and our room for improvement[,] so creating a deep connection with our batch is essential,” noted Reyes. “We always listen with an open ear and an open mind.”

Reyes mentioned that the council would prioritize the Batch Council and Officers Meet (BCOM) to have direct communication with the officers of each section.

Reyes stated: “By working hand in hand with the officers, we will achieve the thriving environment our batch needs and wants, for we know that to lead is to serve.”

Among other activities planned by the party are Pisay Daily Dispatch, a stream of announcements via various social media platforms, Trash Bin Competition to raise environmental awareness, Teachers’ Commemoration Day, and Stalls Contest to promote entrepreneurship.

To achieve their dreams of a “Better Future,” BF Party emphasizes not only unity among students, but also coherence as a council.

“With great power comes great responsibility,” Castaneda said. “Together, we will make sure that we work together as a team so that we will be able to work closely with our batchmates and later on contribute to making our high school years meaningful one[s].”

As Brianna Taccad exclaimed, “Walang iwanan!”
